Draft of Proposed Amendment to the Current PTE Regulations has recently been Prepared by the Israeli Ministry of Justice

The Israeli Ministry of Justice has recently prepared a draft of a proposed amendment to the current PTE Regulations. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to bring the current Regulations into conformity with the new PTE provisions of the Israeli Patent Law, following the enactment of Amendment No. 7 to the Patent Law.

According to the proposed amendment, PTE applications will be prepared and submitted according to a specific form, which will constitute an integral part of the new Regulations. In addition, owners of extension orders will no longer be required to inform the ILPTO of renewals of marketing approvals, but they will still be required to update the ILPTO of other relevant changes in the marketing approvals, including their cancellation.

The amendment to the current PTE Regulations is expected to be approved and published during the upcoming months.
