As part of the preparation for the implementation of the Madrid Protocol,
which is expected to be enacted in Israel during the second half of 2007,
the Official fees related to trade marks were recently updated.

The major change is that the publication fee, which was due after
allowance, has been integrated into the filing fee, which is now the
only fee to be paid in connection with an Israeli trade mark application
(no additional official fees to be paid at any stage).

Consequently, allowed applications will be automatically published in the
Trade Marks Journal of the month following the issuance of the Notice,
without the need to pay publication fees. In cases where owners do not
wish applications to be published, active abandonment will have to be filed.
